The Big Visit is Less than Two Weeks Away!

We invite all parishioners to join in prayers and celebrations with our Patriarch Sviatoslav during his pastoral visit to our Parish. The following is a brief outline of our liturgies and celebrations on Wednesday 24th and Thursday 25th September.

Wednesday 24 September

1 PM The Patriarch – and his travelling companions – will arrive at Canberra airport.
3:30 – 5 PM Moleben at St Michael’s Church in Queanbeyan and a chance to meet and chat with him in person.

The Patriarch will be attending an official function at the Papal Nuncio’s on Wednesday evening.

Thursday 25 September

The Patriarch will spend much of the day at Parliament House, meeting dignitaries and attending a sitting of the House of Representatives.

6 PM Divine Liturgy at St Volodymyr’s Church, Canberra. During this liturgy, His Beatitude will enshrine the relics of Bl. Volodymyr Pryjma and the Martyrs of Pratulin in the Church.
8 – 11 PM Reception at the Ukrainian Church hall in Lyneham. Please join us to greet and get to know our Patriarch. As usual, our reception will include food, drink and music.

Because we are a small community, there will be plenty of opportunities for everyone to speak with the father of our Church personally. If you, or a family member would like assistance in travelling to or from any of the events, please contact the parish office. We would be only too happy to arrange transport for you.
