The ordination took place during Divine Liturgy namely after the Great Entrance. Bishop Ken prepared the faithful that were present in church for this sacrament. After the reading of the Holy Gospel, Bishop Ken said to the faithful that deacon Ivan would be ordained to the priesthood for the Eparchy of Ss. Peter and Paul in Austalia. He added that Ukrainians live in a distant country as Australia. He also said that Ukraine missed its best sons on Maidan in Kyiv during the revolution. He confirmed that Ukrainians in Canada and other countries where Ukrainians live support Ukraine and pray for Ukraine.

Bishop Ken indicated to the faithful that they must exclaim loudly the Greek word “Aksios” that means “worthy” during the ordination. The faithful performed this task perfectly.

At the conclusion of Divine Liturgy, Fr. Ivan Mysiv expressed his gratitude that he received God’s gift – the Priesthood.
