Fr. Andriy Mykytyuk of Canberra is the chairperson of the Eparchial Catechetical Commission in the Eparchy.
He proclaimed 24th February 2013 as the day of the Catechism in our Eparchy.
All our parishes in Australia took part in it. Catechism is one of the more important obligations of the church before its members. Obviously parents are the main teachers of their children but the church does all it can to help.
In Melbourne, during the 9:30 am Liturgy on 24 the February, some 25 Catechists received a certificate of recognition and thanksgiving for their services to the church. In the group were the people who prepare young couples for marriage. Special certificates were given to those who teach in our Ukrainian schools.
