The memory of Holy Priest-Martyr Josaphat Kuntsevych, Archbishop of Polotsk was commemorated in the Perth parish
On Saturday, November 26, in the church of St. John the Baptist in the city of Perth, in a special way, the memory of the priest-martyr Josaphat – a saint who sealed his loyalty to the Cathedral Catholic Church and the Ukrainian people with his life. It is interesting that the relics of the priest-martyr are preserved in the throne of this church, which Bishop Ivan Prashko placed here during the consecration of the shrine.
The celebration began with the Divine Liturgy. In his sermon, Father Ihor Holovko told the faithful about the life and vocation of St. Josaphat. He noted his special mission, about his hard work and prayer so that the church would be united. The priest-martyr dedicated his whole life to the unity of the church and its flock.

The father said: “Today we pray for the intercession of the holy priest-martyr Josaphat, who fought with all his might, preached, prayed and gave his life for the unity of the Church of Christ and for our people to walk into a bright future with those peoples who understand the life of the church and support its development. Today we ask for the intercession of St. Josaphat. May he ask for peace, unity and blessings for our Church and for our Ukrainian people. First of all, we ask you, St. Josaphat, for unity, because only in unity we are with the Lord.”
At the end of the Liturgy, Father Ihor blessed the faithful with an icon of the priest-martyr and after all the faithful sang a song to the saint “Lord, Father”, especially asking for intercession for our Ukrainian people.
