From 16th September until 1st October, Australia will host His Beatitude Patriarch Sviatoslav, Father and Head of the Ukrainian Greek-Catholic Church. During his two week visit Patriarch Sviatoslav will visit Ukrainian parishes throughout Australia, speak with Catholic bishops, meet with politicians, and also meet Ukrainians throughout Australia. This is Patriarch Sviatoslav’s first pilgrimage to Australia.
His Beatitude will be in Melbourne from Friday 19th September till Tuesday 23rd September.
Details of his visit to Melbourne:
Friday, 19th September
2pm – meeting with Patriarch near Cathedral. Everybody is invited to come and to welcome His Beatitude Sviatoslav. Wear traditional vestments and bring your children and grandchildren.
Saturday, 20th September
9.30am – Moleben to Virgin Mary
10.00am – meeting children aged Preschool to 4th year (in hall under Cathedral)
10.45am – meeting children 5th year to 12th year (in Patriarch Joseph’s Hall)
1.00pm – BBQ and meeting with the youth and young families. We sincerely invite all the youth, Plast and CYM, and young families to take part.
6.00pm – Evening with the Patriarch of Peace – to be held at Melbourne Town Hall . Invited guests include RC bishops, clergy, academics, politicians. Dinner with a key note address by His Beatititude. Cost $120 per head. All members of the Ukrainian community welcome.
Sunday, 21st September
9.30am – Divine Liturgy
