On Monday, 1st February 2021, in Kyiv, His Beatitude Sviatoslav announced that He was elevating Very Rev. Fr. Simon Ckuj of Sydney to the honour of “mitred archpriest” with the privilege of wearing a mitre.

In his decree to Father Simon, our Patriarch said that he noted the dedication with which Fr. Simon had been serving God’s glory in the various tasks which had been assigned to him over the years. He added that this recognition is being given as a sign of respect and thanks for his work.

The whole Eparchy congratulates Fr. Simon on this distinction and joins in thanking him for a job well done.

The formal presentation of the mitre will be made sometime in the near future.

 

In 2019, rt. Rev fr. Simon Ckuj celebrated 25 years of priestly ordination.

In June 2019 having taken the advice of the Eparchial College of Consultors, the Eparchy has decided to elevate Very Rev. Fr. Simon Ckuj to the rank of Archpresbyter with the right to wear a gold cross with decorations and the epigonation.

On Monday, 15th May 2017, Bishop Peter announced that Fr Simon Ckuj had been named Protosyncellus and Chancellor of the Eparchy of Ss Peter and Paul. What this means is that Fr Simon is second in charge in the Eparchy and that he represents the Bishop when he is not in the Eparchy.
