Official condolences on the occasion of the falling asleep of the newly departed servant of god Yuriy, father of His Beatitude, Patriarch Sviatoslav

 6 December 2022 A.D.

Glory be to Jesus Christ!

Your Beatitude, Patriarch Sviatoslav!

The news of the death of your father, Yuriy, has come to the knowledge of the clergy of the Melbourne Eparchy during the time of our retreat. It is always difficult to lose loved ones, especially those who gave us life, and raised us. Without a doubt, the father is the head of the family, and an example for his children.

You have taken on the gift of fatherhood in your service as the Head and Father of the Ukrainian Greek-Catholic Church, which you fulfill so admirably. Thanks to our parents we become who we are. We therefore give thanks to Almighty God for the gift of your father’s life.

Please accept our sincere condolences from the faithful and clergy of the Melbourne Eparchy of the Holy Leaders of the Apostles, Peter and Paul. We unite with you in a common prayer for the repose of the soul of the newly-departed servant of God, Yuriy, and we ask that the Lord God may grant repose to his soul where all the Saints and Righteous dwell.

Eternal Memory!

In Christ Our Redeemer,

Eparch of Melbourne
