Fr. Paul Babie of Adelaide has been ordained for 10 years. The parishes in Adelaide gathered on Palm Sunday to thank God for blessing. Fr. Paul works at the University of South Australia School of Law as well as serving in both Adelaide parishes. His Law School is one of the top 50 schools in the world according to our latest information. Fr. Paul is a Senior Lecturer, an Associate Professor, and Associate Dean of Law at the school. He finds time to work in the school and church. He is a member of the Eparchial Financial Council and a member of the Statute Committee in our Eparchy.

His parents came from Calgary, Canada, to celebrate the occasion with him.

Bishop Peter Stasiuk visited Adelaide to help him celebrate as well.

During the weekend, Bishop Peter visited both parishes and held a meetings in each. The pastoral priorities of the Eparchy, i.e. Vision 2020, Bible study, Icon painting, and our Mission in New Zealand were discussed. Moleben for Ukraine was celebrated in the Woodville parish while the Divine Liturgy was celebrated in the Wayville parish. People had an opportunity to ask questions and to share their opinions about life in the church.

Bishop Peter said that he was “very impressed with the faith and dedication of the clergy and people in Adelaide. The church has a future because our people love our church and work hard to spread our faith”.
