On Friday 29 November 2019 Fr Laurence Foote OP celebrated 50 years of his priest ordination.
Fr Laurie was ordained by Archbishop Matthew Beovich, Archbishop of Adelaide at Holy Rosary Church in Adelaide. Since 1986 he has served not only the Domenican Order but also our Ukrainian Catholic Eparchy, notably as pastor of Adelaide and Canberra.

He presented Fr Laurie with a jeweled cross as befits his rank as an Archimadrite. Fr Laurie said in conclusion, “In the life of any priest, there’s no end to the time when you should pray for him.”
Earlier this year Very Rev. Laurence Foote OP was elevated to the rank of Archimandrite. This rank is reserved for monks who have attained high respect amongst the faithful over a long period of time.
Fr. Laurence Foote has been serving in our Eparchy for over 33 years. He knows our Ukrainian Catholic Church. He studied Eastern Spirituality in Rome and has applied it here in Australia.
He is, at the same time, one of Australia’s best-known University chaplains.
Let us pray for Fr Laurence that he may enjoy Many Happy Years!
