Christmas message of Fr. Brian Kelty, administrator of the st. Peter and Paul Parish in North Melbourne.
Christ is born! Glorify Him!
The feast of the Nativity of our Lord Jesus Christ is one of our church’s major feasts. As this feast falls in a holiday period, a time given to rest, renewal and reflection on our lives, it is an opportunity to reconnect ourselves with God and to provide a place for him in our lives. The newborn Son of God comes to us, vulnerable and fragile as any new born and with his birth, he brings salvation to a world often in chaos and constant turmoil. The Nativity of our Lord Jesus Christ, requires us to prepare our hearts and to let Him enter our lives. The new born welcomes all, all are included, no one is excluded from his love and any fear we may have, should vanish at the joyous celebration of his presence and openness of his unending love.

St Luke (24:32) writes: were not our hearts burning within us while he was talking to us on the road, while he was opening the scripture to us?
We therefore pray that through the nativity period, that our hearts will equally burn to be part of the newly born who provides us with renewal of a new beginning and a desire to give ourselves to each other in love as a community of faithful believers. Wishing all parishioners a special Christmas of peace and joy and every blessing in the New Year.
