  • Oct 13 Brisbane parish of the Protection of the Mother of God celebrated 60 years of the parish.
  • Oct    28 Celebration of 70 years of Back to Bonegilla held on site in Bonegilla. Very Rev. Peter Struk celebrated Divine Liturgy with 180 people in attendance. Fr Peter blessed the memorial plaque prepared for the occasion.

  • 15 February – Bishop Peter Stasiuk and Fr. Andriy Mykytyuk visited Auckland, New Zealand, to welcome the two Redemptorists missionaries from Ukraine and meet with Redemptorists from Australia, New Zealand, and Ukraine.
  • 1 March – Bishop Peter Stasiuk appointed Fr. Andriy Mykytyuk administrator of the Cathedral parish of Ss. Peter and Paul, North Melbourne, and Fr Laurence Foote, O.P. administrator of Canberra parish of St. Volodymyr.
  • 20 March – Subdeacon Richard Charlwood is ordained by Bishop Peter Stasiuk to the deaconate in St. John the Baptist church in Perth.

  • 10-12 December – President of Ukraine, His Excellency Mr Petro Poroshenko visited our Eparchy during his Presidential visit to Australia. On the 11th December he attended a prayer service in the cathedral, for the victims of the MH 17 airplane tragedy in Eastern Ukraine, together with the Prime Minister, the Honourable Mr Tony Abbott, Premier of Victoria, Mr Daniel Andrews, Leader of the Opposition Mr Bill Shorten and ministers of the Federal and State parliaments. He also attended a State function in Canberra.
  • 26 December – 1 January 2015 – Bishop Peter and priests of the Cathedral parish visited the youth camps for Divine Liturgy and gave talks to our youth.

  •    9 November Bishop Ivan Prasko returned to Australia after the historic Synod in Rome that announced the Patriarchate.

  •   New South Wales has 476 students in Ukrainian schools, CYM has 142 and Plast has 152 young people.

  •    22-29 March Inaugural Meeting of all Ukrainian Catholic Organisations in Australia was held in   Melbourne.
  •    3 May Perth television broadcasts the blessing of Easter baskets at Perth parish. The baskets were     blessed by the Archbishop of Perth, Raymond Prenderville.
  •    24 May the foundation stone was laid in Maylands, Perth.
  •    14 December the walls of the Perth Church began.

1963

  •    The Cathedral Church in Melbourne, dedicated to Ss. Peter and Paul, was completed.
  •    28 February Melbourne Obnova was founded – 18 members.
  •    10 March foundation stone for the Church of the Assumption of the Mother of God in Ardeer was laid.
  •    18 August Queanbeyan foundation stone was laid.
  •    8 September foundation was laid for the Church of Sts. Volodymyr and Olga, Woodville, S.A.
  •    22 September the blessing of land in Maylands, Perth.
  •    23 October Father Josyf Gorczynsky celebrated 40th Anniversary of his priesthood.

  •    Greta chapel near Greta immigration camp was blessed.

  •    First meeting of Priests since the establishment of the Exarchate, held after funeral of Rev. Petro Diachyshyn.

  •    Rev. Evhen Lacyk appointed parish priest of Adelaide.
  •    Rev. Dmytro Kaczmar appointed parish priest of Melbourne.

  •    Offset and variatype printer bought for “Church and Life”.

  •    17 December the blessing of St. Andrew’s Church, Sydney, took place.
  •    31 December the blessing of the Church of Our Lady of Protection, Brisbane. The cost of building the    Church was 18,000 pounds.
  •    St. Andrew’s Church in Sydney was built.

1960

  •    “Church and Life” quarterly newspaper was established as an information service for the Exarchate. First  edition published in April from 57 Church Street, Lidcombe, NSW. Cost two shillings and came out four times a year.
  •    Exarchate officially gazetted in NSW on 24 June, thus becoming a legal institution.
  •    The Catholic Students Organisation ‘Obnova’ established at the Sydney parish, 43 members.
  •    Two Grottoferrata Basilians arrived, Rev. Evhen Lacyk and Rev. Simon Myhal.
  •    Land purchased for the purpose of building a church in Wayville SA.
  •    Rev. Roman Martyniuk, 29 years old, arrived from Canada and left after one year.
  •    Land purchased to build a church in Northam W.A. for 150 pounds.

1959

  •    Rev. Michael Melnyk arrived from Canada to Australia.
  •    Land was purchased for the Newcastle Parish.
  •    Rev. Michael Melnyk become administrator of Melbourne parish.

  •    Rev. Nicolai Kopiakiwsky C.Ss.R. and Rev. Francis Van den Boch (Boski) C.Ss.R. arrived to serve the       faithful in Australia.

  •    Archbishop Sylvester of the Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church prayed the first Panachyda in    Australia for the repose of the soul of Metropolitan Andrei Sheptytsky in Australia in Cowra Camp.
