The Cathedral Parish of North Melbourne opened the Christmas season on a cool rainy evening on Thursday, December 13, 2018. The festival was held indoors, but despite the wet weather, attendance was very good.
Fr Andrij Mykytyuk, Fr Justin McDonnell, Oleg Levkut and Simon Kohut led the congregationalsinging. They certainly quickly brought everyone into the spirit of Christmas.Mr Nick Kohut was the M.C. for the evening.

Special guests for the evening included some of our community finest young singers, Joanna Ckuj. Alyssa Soloczynskyj and the popular group Rodyna along with their children.
The executive committee of the Ukrainian community in Essendon introduced themselves by leading all with a carol.
It was very good to see many children at the event. There were also a good number of people who have recently immigrated from Ukraine. Those in attendance, and this included a good number of neighbours from the area, stayed for the BBQ which was organized by the Cathedral Parish Council.
It was a very enjoyable evening which on one hand was very community oriented and also reminded us that the festive season of the Birth of Christ is upon us.
