His Beatitude Sviatoslav Shevchuk has announced that he will visit Australia from September 18-30  2014.  That is for a period of 12 days.  This is not a long visit considering the huge area our church has and all the traveling which will be necessary.

Because of this, not all of our Parishes and Missions will be visited.  His Beatitude has requested that regional meetings be organized.  He did stress that he would like to meet with the clergy, catechists, and youth.

Mr. Peter Duma is the chair of the organizing committee which is already meeting to set the final program of the visit.  Mr Duma said that it will be difficult to fulfil all the wishes of the various parishes because of the short visit and the request that only two events a day be held during the tour.  Bishop Peter Stasiuk said that the visit by the Patriarch will be a “real blessing on our Church in Australia.”  The people will have a chance to meet the Father and Head of Our Church.

The Eparchial Website will now  begin to inform the faithful of the Eparchy about the details of the tour.
