Bishop Peter Stasiuk’s letter on tragedy in Egypt

Letter from Bishop Peter to His Grace Bishop Anba Suriel regarding the Palm Sunday bombings of Egyptian Coptic churches

Your Grace,

Our words cannot express the horror we feel at the news of barbaric attack on Coptic Christians at St George’s Cathedral in Tanta and St Mark’s Cathedral in Alexandria. So many martyrs were created. So many people are left suffer from the atrocity.

The prayers of the whole Ukrainian Eparchy are with you and your people.

We stand with you and encourage authorities around the world to condemn these acts,  do all in their power to protect the Coptic population in Egypt.

May you find solace in the Resurrection of Christ which conquers all evil and gives us new life.

Yours sincerely in Christ

Peter Stasiuk C.Ss.R.AM

44 people were killed and more than 100 more were injured in two Palm Sunday suicide attacks at Coptic Christian churches, each carried out by the ISIS terror group.
