On 23-24 November our Eparchy commemorates 86 Years Holodomor. We will pray for those who suffered and died during the Holodomor famine of 1932-33.

There will be a Panahyda (memorial service) after Divine Liturgy—combining the Ukrainian Orthodox and Ukrainian Catholics churches in the Ukrainian Catholic Church, Maylands
Refreshments will be available in Ukrainian Catholic church hall afterwards.

Since 2006 Ukraine has officially observed a Holodomor Memorial Day on the fourth Saturday of November.
On Saturday, November 23, 2019, Ukrainians around the world will light a candle of remembrance in their homes with a prayer for the victims of the Holodomor – a genocide perpetrated against the Ukrainian people in an attempt to destroy the Ukrainian national identity.
