Father Danilo Novak has turned 87. He lives in a nursing home in Brisbane. He is slowly recovering from his illness and has actually gained weight and is feeling much better. He happily receives visitors and enjoys his time in his new home. He receives a good number of visitors. He loves praying with them and giving each one a blessing.
Fr. Danilo will soon celebrate the 50th anniversary of his priesthood. He was ordained on 7th March, 1966, by Patriarch Josyf Slipyj in Rome. The parishioners will soon announce plans to celebrate this anniversary at the parish.
The Ukrainian Association of Queensland has sold their hromada hall which was in down town Brisbane. The site will soon be converted into another high rise building. They have recently acquired the Lynndon Bowls Club at 47 Galsworthy St, Holland Park West, Queensland.
It has a huge building on site with a big hall, kitchen, and bar. It enjoys a large parcel of land which has two lawn bowling greens. There is plenty of land for parking. The Ukrainian Community is now developing plans on how they will continue to develope the Ukrainian Community life in Queensland at their new home base.
The Ukrainian Catholic Church in Woollongabba looks sparkling brand new. As we all know it suffered extensive storm damage a year ago. Today the rebuilding project has almost finished. Insurance coverage which extended over a couple hundred thousand dollars has paid for the renovation in the church and parish houses. They all look spectacular.
